With more musicians than you could count on both hands and a foot, and over 60 dancers, Dawnswyr Gwerin Pen-y-Fai (Pen-y-Fai Welsh Folk Dancers) celebrated their 50thanniversary with a magnificent dinner dance at the Heronston Hotel, Bridgend on Saturday June 11th. Tredegar House Folk Festival is almost here! The weekend of May 6-8th will be full to the brim of folk festivities with plenty of folk dancing groups included on the line-up. Alongside international groups from Latvia and Bulgaria there will be a variety of other dance styles to be seen, and amongst them are Welsh
The intention is, if the rules allow, to hold the Gŵyl Ifan festival on Saturday, June 25 in 2022. So, keep the date, so we may meet once again to dance under the Summer Pole (and the sun?!).
Dear fellow-dancer, Menter Iaith Maldwyn, the National Eisteddfod and other partners are presenting an application to the Arts Council of Wales for a project to promote Traditional Dance in Wales.
