After 50 years of tradition, dance and celebration, Gŵyl Ifan is preparing for its final chapter.

This year, dancers and musicians from across Wales will gather in Cardiff to mark the culmination of a remarkable era in the story of Welsh folk dance. As ever, the Welsh Folk Dance Society is proud to support the event by sponsoring both lunch and transport, helping to ensure that this final celebration is as inclusive and accessible as possible for everyone taking part.

On Saturday, 27 June 2026, with the raising of the Summer Pole, dancing across the city and a final Taplas Bach to close the evening, the programme reflects everything that has made the festival a cornerstone of our calendar for decades. The Society encourages members, supporters and the wider public to join the celebrations and discover more about what’s planned on the event page.
